ALF- The Acrylic Life Form, is a robotic construction kit that provides an easy-to-use introduction to programming and mechanical design. ALF is an entirely laser-cut robotic head with features that can easily be changed. Through simple programming software currently under development, users can program ALFs to talk, sing, and even communicate with each other.

However, one of the primary goals of the ALF platform is its close connection with our LOGO interface to the laser-cutter. The new design tools that we are working on will enable anyone to design new features for ALF, thereby being able to give it a personal touch, helping to provide a less intimidating environment for those less comfortable with the technology that actually brings ALF to life.

ALF is a product of the Grassroots Invention group, specifically Bakhtiar Mikhak, Chris Lyon and Andrew Sempere.
